My Story

I was in my mid-30's when my significant other told me on Christmas morning that he had been diagnosed with cancer. It was one of the most profound and impactful statements I have ever heard. It immediately launched me into caregiving mode with him, and then propelled me onto a life path of wider caring, service and professional counseling. Since 1998, it has been my honor to work with hundreds of people with cancer, as well as caregivers and family members. Their cancer experiences have come with all kinds of life issues including anxiety, fear, depression, loss, grief, transitions, and a search for purpose, spirituality and meaning. I have learned so much from everyone. Even without a cancer diagnosis, these are often the same issues people face when major change and uncertainty enter their lives.
